No Ugly Flowers
Original watercolor and ink on  5x5 paper. Displayed in a contemporary frame that can either be tabletop or on the wall.  
 
"There are no ugly flowers," reads the sentiment. 
 
These are words that emerged when I was making art last year while at the Oregon coast. I had  painted a vase of flowers when it occured to me : there are no ugly flowers. I love them all. Every flower has some kind of unique and distinct appearance that is magnificent.
 
I think the same of human beings as well. We have remarkable bodies in all kinds of shapes and sizes, bodies that shift with time and age, bodies that heal and strengthen as well as wither and weaken. There are no ugly flowers is the clear message of this mini artwork.
