Time for a Change (Again!)

SURPRISE ! If you have followed me for any length of time as a blogger you know that I used to post frequently until I didn't... my writing life really took a hit when I started my factory job the summer of 2013. Graveyard shift and long hours just kept me barely able to function let alone do anything extra like write or make art.

A few months ago my resolve to leave this job kicked into gear. I've teetered on the edge of leaving for quite a while, but it is a well-paying union job with great benefits. Being a divorced, single-income woman, how can I walk away from steady money?

But I have to.... the job has gotten to the point that it aches my body with the physicality of it and worse, it feels like it is draining my lifeforce. I began to ask myself, How much is my vitality worth ? Am I just selling it to the highest bidder?

A vision slowly began to shape in my mind. I decided to hire a life coach and with the guidance of a financial advisor, I am laying track down to exit my union factory job in 2019.

I am building my own business, a creative business that will center around me teaching art and writing locally, but especially online. Online creative instruction has become popular and many artists are able to build up a following through online courses. This is my intention, for it is my passion to not only make art and write, it is central to my passion to inspire others to make their own art and write their own words. I love to inspire. It is the biggest reward of all when my art or writing has had a positive impact on another person’s journey. I intend to impact as many people as I can, and I can do that better by running my own creative business rather than stay inside the walls of a factory building.

I have also hired a web developer. I will be launching an entirely brand new website and blog in the coming new year that will be snazzier, more professional and in keeping with having an online business presence.

I forecast my blog to explore the creative process, as well as personal topics like body positivity, emotional healing and personal growth. Art and writing are outward expressions of the artist’s inner life. My inner world has been shifting and expanding rapidly this past year. As a result, my art has never been more vibrant or my writing stronger.

I am excited for the next chapter of my life. It will be centered on what I call the Three C’s :

Creativity, Community, and Connecting to nature.

If you want to stay along with me for the journey I would be so honored. You don’t need to do anything. If you’ve decided to move on no worries, just click the unsubscribe button at the bottom of this email blog alert.

Whichever you decide, I want to invite you to follow me on Instagram, which is my favorite social media platform. (click here to find me on Instagram) I also invite you to friend me on my personal Facebook page. (click here for that). I will follow you back!

Thanks for being with me. I anticipate many rich conversations when I am fully reentered into the blogosphere… and to think of engaging with people through online art and writing courses just makes me SWOON.

Stay tuned!
