Many artmakers are intimidated about drawing faces and so avoid exploring the wonderful world of creative expressive characters with interesting faces. 

In this workshop students will be guided step by step in how to loosely sketch faces and then bring to life with watercolor paint. The emphasis is on creating casual and loose face sketches that are envlivening rather than proportionally perfect. 

No drawing or painting experience needed. This workshop will incorporate a simple introduction to sketching techniques and watercolor painting. 

This is a LIVEstream workshop on Zoom that will begin at 11am PST. Please note your time zone. There will be a class recording available for four weeks.

Please ensure that you have reliable internet and a distraction free space to attend this online workshop.  

SUPPLIES NEEDED

• Practice paper for sketching (printer paper or a notebook or sketchbook is fine)
• Watercolor Paper, 140 pounds Coldpress    (9x12 is a great size. Smaller is fine, too)
• Watercolor Palette of at least 5 colors (this is a great palette on Amazon that is ready to use and affordable. Check it out HERE)
• Number #4 Round Brush (any brand though I favor the Princeton brushes which are great specifically for watercolor painting like this ONE
• Fine point ink pen (I am a long time lover of the Pilot Precise V5 you can find HERE)
• Water resistant ink pens (optional but I do highly recommend as it makes for really clean lines. Here is an affordable set  HERE )
• Watercup
• Paper towels
• Spray bottle of water (optional. don't sweat this one if you don't have it, though it is an excellent tool for watercolor painting)

This is a non-refundable workshop. Due to the nature of what I offer, I am unable to provide a refund or credit to a future workshop. You may transfer your spot to another person if you are unable to attend. Just let me know so I can add their name to the roster.  In the unlikely event that circumstances beyond my control warrant canceling the event, students will receive a full refund minus the service fee.
