Mixed-media Collage Word of the Year

Instead of making a resolution that often does not succeed, many of us have developed the practice of having a word of the year, a single word that serves as an anchor for the new year. Making art that showcases your word gives a creative way to showcase your word for the entire year.

Supplies recommended for this workshop :

• 8x10 Canvas panel, or heavy paper or cardboard
• Variety of papers to collage such as magazines, old maps, sheet music, wrapping paper, etc....
• GEL MEDIUM or Mod Podge for glueing (Speedball gel medium is a great product available on Amazon)
• Paint brush (for applying gel medium or Mod Podge)
• Acrylic or craft paint, at least four colors including white
• Spray bottle
• Paper towels
• Hair Dryer (trust me on this one!)
• Optional : Print out of your word of the year, rubber stamps, stencils, markers, gel pens, charcoal pencil
