Join me for a relaxing day of sketching and watercolor painting beneath the trees along the beautiful banks of the Lewis River, only 30 minutes from Vancouver, Wa and just one hour from Portland, Oregon.

Throughout the day, you'll learn simple techniques for observing, sketching and painting the natural world. No prior drawing or painting experience is necessary. This is a beginner friendly art retreat that is also suitable for the seasoned art maker seeking fresh inspiration.

Together we will create:

• Observational forest sketches

• Three small watercolor studies inspired by the landscape

• One larger finished watercolor painting to take home

Along the way, you'll receive guided instruction in observation, composition, watercolor techniques, and the art of slowing down enough to truly notice the beauty around you.

This is more than a painting class. It is a day of creative immersion in nature, surrounded by towering trees, fresh air, and the soothing sounds of the Lewis River.

ALL SUPPLIES PROVIDED

• Professional grade watercolor paint

• Professional level brush

• High grade watercolor paper

• Pencil/Pen

You'll also receive to take home with you, a retreat art bag filled with your paintings, nature-inspired reflections, and creative resources to help carry the magic of the forest home with you.

WHAT TO BRING

• Sturdy shoes for an outdoor environment

• Lunch

• Bottled Water

(Sparkling water and bottled ice tea will be provided)

ALL GENDERS welcome to register.

Youth welcome to register with a registered adult.

The park is ADA accessible though please note there are uneven surfaces to navigate. The restroom facilities are approximately 265 feet away.

This Forest Sketching and Painting Day Retreat is limited to 12 participants.

REFUND POLICY

This is a non-refundable creative event. Due to the nature of what I offer, I am unable to provide a refund or credit to future events. You may transfer your spot to another person if you are unable to attend. Just let me know so I can add their name to the roster.  In the unlikely event that circumstances beyond my control warrant canceling the event, students will receive a full refund.
